March is Women’s History Month!
Did you know that March is National Women’s History Month? Every March, the country celebrates the accomplishments of women throughout American history. Below are just a few notable women who’s contributions and accomplishments have made this country great!
- Rosa Parks: An African-American civil rights activist to eventually be known as “Mother of the Modern-Day Civil Rights Movement.”
- Amelia Earhart: The first woman to fly a plane across the Atlantic Ocean. It took 20 hours and 40 minutes.
- Sacajawea: A Shoshone Indian woman who guided Lewis and Clark on their famous expedition to find the Pacific Ocean.

We learned about Helen Keller in class today. She was the first person who was both deaf and blind to graduate from college. She also dedicated much of her life to the American Foundation for the Blind and was very involved in women’s rights. Her story was really inspiring to me and she really is one of the greatest women in history!
