March is Women’s History Month!
Wednesday, March 19th, 2008Did you know that March is National Women’s History Month? Every March, the country celebrates the accomplishments of women throughout American history. Below are just a few notable women who’s contributions and accomplishments have made this country great!
- Rosa Parks: An African-American civil rights activist to eventually be known as “Mother of the Modern-Day Civil Rights Movement.”
- Amelia Earhart: The first woman to fly a plane across the Atlantic Ocean. It took 20 hours and 40 minutes.
- Sacajawea: A Shoshone Indian woman who guided Lewis and Clark on their famous expedition to find the Pacific Ocean.
